Winter Cocktail Recipe – Mulled Wine

christmas pinup mistletoe

What a bad hostess I am. I completely missed Cocktail Thursday!

To make it up to you, I am giving you a party cocktail recipe for wine. While I like my wine from the bottle (just half a glass please) most of the time, I am intrigued by wine cocktails! Today’s recipe is for mulled wine. It’s warm, and perfect for winter.

Mulled Wine

Serves 6-8
4 cups apple cider
1 bottle red wine (Fifty Barrels Cabernet suggested)
1/4 cup honey
4 cloves
3 star anise
2 sticks cinnamon
Juice of 1 orange

Warm over medium heat for 10 minutes. Serve in heat safe mugs. Enjoy!
