Valentine's Day Guide 2012: Fifty Barrels Winery Group Oceanside

BusyBeeBlogger was NOT compensated for this post

We’ve become accustomed to the micro-brewery here in SoCal. There’s one in every town, and the San Diego is becoming known for the tastiness they have to offer. But I think it’s time to remember what my friends and I are referring to as the “micro-winery”. Small batches of good wine made by people who really enjoy the process.

There is one such place in an industrial park (!) here in Oceanside. Fifty Barrels Winery Group.

Fifty Barrels is a grassroots, urban winery featuring handmade, artisan wines from California’s finest grapes.

Our palette-pleasing wines are made through the collaborative efforts of a few fraternity brothers who met in college and a couple of great guys (and gals!) they picked up along the way. We are a fully functioning production facility, handling everything on site from the time the grapes leave the vine till the juice hits your glass.

You can show up on Saturdays and Sundays for their wine tastings, or you can take a class on wine (their wine 101 series starts THIS Saturday, and would make a great Valentine’s Day gift). On occassion, you can also help crush grapes, and bottle the wine!

This Valentine’s Day, Fifty Barrels is open to everyone 6:00—9:00PM. They will be offering their great wine with appetizers for couples and singles. I might even see you there!
