Thirsty Thursday: Three 4th Of July Cocktail Recipes
These three Fourth of July inspired cocktails are sure to send rockets flying at your barbecue. This Southern California girl will be enjoying one of these for sure, but with plenty of water in between. With your choice of vodka, tequila and absinthe there should be a cocktail recipe for you and yours to enjoy responsibly.
4th of July Cocktails
Rockets’ Red Glare
Tequila for the 4th of July? Why not? You can choose to blend it like the recipe suggests or just serve over ice in a tall glass. No blender necessary
1 ½ oz. Trianon Blanco Tequila
1 ½ oz. cranberry juice
½ oz. orange liqueur
1 oz. lime juice
blue sugar and watermelon star for garnish
Add all ingredients into a blender with ice. Blend and pour into a blue sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with
watermelon star and serve.
The Yankee Doodle
Like a Moscow Mule, but completely different. The absinthe with the ginger beer brings out the sparklers.
½ oz. Lucid Absinthe
1 oz. Sobieski Vodka
¼ oz. simple syrup
Splash of lemon juice
Drizzle of raspberry brandy
Fresh blueberries and sugar cube for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, add fresh blueberries and simple syrup and muddle. Add Lucid Absinthe, Sobieski Vodka, lemon juice and shake. Strain into a highball glass and top with raspberry brandy and ginger beer. Garnish with fresh blueberries and a sugar cube and serve.
In a shot glass, layer grenadine, blue curaçao, and Sobieski Vodka.
Be sure to keep plenty of still water on hand throughout the day for your guests. I like to keep my fridge or cooler filled with sparkling water as well to make it a little more festive. Don’t forget your designated drivers, have plenty of juice waters, still water, sodas, and more than a few “Thank you”s for them throughout the day.
