That poor girl?
This week’s US Weekly proclaims that single women in Hollywood are miserable (all while splashing the O’Connell wedding above their poor single heads). After all, doesn’t being single, but having a successful job and good friends mean that your life is empty? Please! Here’s what the magazine has to say.
If Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston can’t find a guy, is there any hope for the rest of us?
Sure, there are plenty of men out there who would want to date A-listers like Reese Witherspoon, but not many measure up both physically and professionally – after all, there is only one George Clooney, and every knows he’s not settling down anytime soon.
While men stars such as George Clooney do get prodded once in a while during interviews about their single status, I don’t see HIM on the cover. Owen Wilson, Ryan Phillippe, Kevin Spacey, Orlando Bloom, Jake Gyllenhaal, are all celebrated as available bachelors, not “poor things” who can’t seem to keep a partner.
Maybe these stories keep landing on the front page because women buy the magazines?
