Suja Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon Hits San Diego!

rock n roll marathon san diego 2014

Get your run on, San Diego. Tomorrow, the most rockin’ marathon around, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will he hitting the streets.

There will be both the full 26.2 miles, and the half marathon winding their way through the different areas of San Diego. Most exciting part? Boston Marathon winner, Meb Keflezighi, will also be there! He calls San Diego home, so it’s cool he’s going to be at one of the biggest races San Diego has to offer.

San Diego native and 2014 Boston Marathon Champion Meb Keflezighi will participate in the Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & ½ Marathon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Competing amongst the masses by pacing the 1:30 half-marathon group, the event weekend will continue the nationwide celebration of his historic victory, where he became the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983.

Don’t fret if you can’t do the race that fast, it’s more about the PR and being out in the air than beating the Boston Marathon champ.

Haven’t trained for the race? Come out and cheer these guys on. There’s something special that happens when you’re running and there are people cheering you on. Especially with about 4 miles to go, or maybe that’s just me.

If you want to see the areas that the runners will be taking over, whether to cheer them on, or avoid the chaos, here’s the map of both the half and the full marathon.

  1. Oh :( I thought this was a marathon with rock and roll music playing! duh :(

    • It is!! About every mile there’s a band

  2. But I LOVE these things, especially when for charity. I am not in shape for a marathon, so instead I walk a few miles and pay entry fee. Lots of fun!

  3. This sounds like a great event, would love to run a marathon!

  4. I’ve always wanted to try running a marathon, but I’ve never actually tried it yet.

  5. I’ve never ran a marathon and I don’t think I ever could, I’d probably go cheer them on.

  6. This would be a fun marathon — I might have to enter next year?

  7. I would need to get my butt training soon to do this!
