SoCal Gets Its Own Running With The Bulls – Yay?

great bull run socal

No need to travel to Spain to experience running with bulls.  No, you can join other SoCal peeps in running for you life while being chased by very confused bulls in TEMECULA come June 2014.   No this isn’t a joke.

June 21st, 2014, the Great Bull Run will come to Temecula, CA.

The Great Bull Run is coming to Galway Downs in Temecula, CA on June 21st! Grab life by the horns and experience the rush of a lifetime as you sprint down a quarter-mile track with up to twenty-four 1,500-pound bulls hot on your heels. Cap off your run in our insanely fun tomato food fight, Tomato Royale, then celebrate all day long in our massive festival featuring live music, great food, cold beer, games and attractions! Not up for running with bulls? No problem! You can still watch all the action as a spectator or join in the fun as a participant in Tomato Royale! Be sure to read our Frequently Asked Questions for the details on how the run is structured and remember: prices go up over time so don’t wait too long to sign up!

You can also join in the great tomato fight in between bull runs. Yes, have your face and clothes attacked by your neighbors. Get pelted in the face with a tomato, or whatever he or she picks up with which to pelt you. Ahh sounds like a grand time.

There IS a waiver that you have to sign (duh) and the particulars are exactly what you would expect. Basically, it states that you understand that there are animals and people that make attack you and you may be injured physically or mentally.

I may go and watch, but I’m not too sure about having people and bulls chase me in Temecula.

  1. I have never understood the running of the bulls.

  2. I would be way too scared to actually try it.

  3. Who would do this? I would never do this, it’s absolutely crazy… and insane.

  4. People get killed at these events, why would SoCal want to establish this?

    • That’s what I was wondering. Just not really the best idea. I guess Temecula is trying to say it is more than just heat and wine country
