My Brush With Fame – The Hollywood Wax Museum #WaxFan
Where else beside Hollywood can this little pinup spend the afternoon with my favorite celebrities and not have deal with the egos? The Hollywood Wax Museum is just what I need.
The other day I made the trek from San Diego county all the way up to Hollywood and hit up the Hollywood Wax Museum to see what the long time institution had in store for me.
Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest-running wax museum in the United States. It has been the most visited indoor attraction in Hollywood since 1965. Plans are in the works to celebrate the Museum’s 50th Anniversary in 2015. It is also the first wax museum to dedicate its entire show to Hollywood, celebrities and pop culture.
George Clooney waits for you on the red carpet
The Hollywood Wax Museum is a one of the fun things to do in Hollywood if you’re in town visiting. Not only are there the celebrity figures in wax, but you can touch them and take photos with most of them. Hollywood Wax Museum was designed for interaction. Rather than walking by and just looking, visitors are encouraged to walk into the open sets and take photos with the figures.
And there are interesting factoids about their movies and or their lives next to the figures. My favorite was Bela Lugosi’s figure and the trivia on the movie Dracula. There’s a whole section just for suspense/horror movie actors. It was a little much for me all by myself so I scooted out of that part pretty quick.
If you and your family or friends are headed out to the SoCal area, and want something fun and different to do, I suggest you hit up the Hollywood Wax Museum on Hollywood Blvd.
