Michael Douglas Talks Cancer with David Letterman [Photos and Video]
Michael Douglas arrives at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, New York on August 31, 2010 as a guest of “The Late Show With David Letterman” after avoiding press and discussing his throat cancer.
The “Wall Street” actor opened up to David and the audience about his throat cancer, which he revealed is the most advanced stage being a stage IV. Michael is now in his first week of radiation, chemotherapy treatment that is very painful and will last eight weeks.
He found out about his cancer a few weeks ago and told Letterman that it was from drinking and smoking habits but he also added that it could be from the stressful year he has just gone through. Douglas has recently had to deal with his eldest son, Cameron Douglas being sentenced to five years in prison.
David then asked Michael what he could do to help, Michaels answer was touching, “Give me a hug”.
I’ll just be over here, crying in the corner. I know just how effed up cancer and chemo can be, and I pray for Douglas and his family as they all go through this.
