Happy Spring! The Carlsbad Flower Fields Are Open For Visiting

View of the Southern California Carlsbad flower fields in bloom
Happy first day of spring! While the rest of the country, at least the North East, is still under snow, Southern California is in full bloom. The Carlsbad Flower Fields are open for visits for the rest of Spring, and everyone is invited.

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are over 50 acres of colorful Giant Ranunculus and other specialty flowers. Every year 125,000 visitors, tourists and locals alike, visit the flower fields to take in the beautiful colors. Visitors can view the fields on foot, or even take a wagon ride through the flowers. There are benches and tables available for people to take a rest if you get tired from walking through the flower fields as well. Due to safety issues, pets are not invited to share in the outdoor fun, but certified service animals are welcomed.

Every year the ranunculus are in bloom, and fill the drive home and to do errands with a little bit of happiness.Even locals get excited when the flowers bloom and you can walk through the fields. Bring a sack lunch with you to enjoy in the middle of the fields, not a bad way to enjoy our beautiful weather. You can even bring flowers home with you. The flower fields sell bulbs for you to plant at home as well as fresh cut flowers for you to enjoy now.

Visitors can visit the flower fields this year March 1, 2015 through May 10, 2015. Tickets will run you $12 for adults and $6 for children. If you want to enjoy the wagon ride, it will be 5 dollars more. Hours: Open to the public seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online and onsite.

Have you enjoyed walking through the flower fields with friends, family or in a school group? Tell us all about it in the comments below or on any of our social media accounts.

  1. Enjoy Spring – these blooms are pretty stunning. I miss flowers in full bloom. Here it’s autumn and we are patiently waiting for winter :)

  2. Gorgeous! I’m originally from Washington State, and the spring flowers are always worth driving out into the country for. I think Carlsbad is a beautiful place, been there a few times but never saw these flowers. Hope to see them in person some day!

  3. This looks incredible! Next time I’m in SoCal I need to visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields. I can imagine sharing a picnic lunch with my family amidst all that beauty. Here in NJ we have the cherry blossoms, which is a miraculous experience too!
