Cocktail Recipe Thursday: Grilling Partner With Vodka & Absinthe
Cocktail recipe Thursday has to be this Southern California pinup’s favorite day of the week. Together, we have the anticipation of the weekend before us, but we are not in the middle of it knowing it is about to end. And I get to share some of my favorite cocktail recipes with you to try over the weekend! There is nothing bad about any of that.
This weekend, we get to celebrate dads for Father’s Day. So let us raise our glasses to dad with this simple, yet delicious cocktail, the “Grilling Partner”. Mixing absinthe and vodka might sound a little crazy, but trust me on this one, it is good and dad will be surprised.

Grilling Partner Cocktail – Tongs in one hand, this cocktail in the other and you’ve got a perfect grilling pair.
1 oz. Lucid Absinthe
1 oz. Sobieski Vanilia Vodka
4 oz. cola
Mint sprig for garnish
Combine Lucid Absinthe and Sobieski Vanilia Vodka with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a
tall glass with ice. Top with cola and garnish with a sprig of mint.
If dad, or you for that matter, is not a cola fan, this works really well with just soda water. It brings down the sweet factor a touch. You can also have a slice of lime or lemon instead of the mint. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to cocktails. Try something and tailor it to you.
I may not be a huge fan of manufactured holidays, but I tend to see that dads get the short end of the stick when it comes to being thanked and appreciated. So even if you do not get to see dad on Father’s Day remember to call him up and at least say hi. They may not be as expressive as moms, but they tend to appreciate the little things just as much.
