Rocker Adam Bones EP Drops September With Live SoCal Shows

Adam Bones 3d album cover

As a SoCal native, I am always on the lookout for good times with good music, from local artists.

Adam Bones is a new hard working musician.  He’s genre-defying, classic rock & roll, true-blue power pop, punk-edged, guitar driven, all-girl-backed, take no prisoners band. And now, Knitting Factory Entertainment is bringing the man and the band’s sophomore recording to the world in the form of four rocking tracks on the new EP entitled ROCK IT UP. The release date is set for Tuesday, September 10.

For fans unable to wait until September to hear Adam Bones’ new music, he is playing multiple ROCK IT UP release shows from Bakersfield to Burbank across Southern California. Upcoming dates include:

Fans can buy the EP CD at the shows— along with other new Adam Bones merch.  The shows will feature tunes from ROCK IT UP, his debut EP Feel for Tomorrow and a killer cover of Justice’s hit pop tune New Lands.  The September 18th show will feature the first live showing of Bones’ 3D video of ROCK IT UP.  The video is directed by Ash Wagers, who is currently nominated for an MTV (VMA) Video Music Award for Capital Cities’ “Safe and Sound.”

Adam Bones brings the music to his fans on CD the way he does live: in three brilliantly colored dimensions.  Two dimensions are simply not enough to contain this musical energy so the EP itself is 3D and comes equipped with glasses to experience Adam with true depth perception. On September 10, the EP will be available for sale from his web site and digitally on iTunes, Bandcamp (, Amazon and who knows where else.

The Quivers
“If Tina Turner, Dick Dale, and Augie Meyers had a love child; this is what it would sound like!”

Howard Iceberg & The Titanics
KC’s beloved singer-songwriter, Howard’s diamond-in-the-rough lyrics are delieverd by a voice that’s just worn enough and just gritty enough. Rough yet polished – just like Kansas City.

The Latenight Callers
“The house band at David Lynch’s pool-party, Patsy Cline singing for Portishead, Sexy Lounge Rock, Noir-a-Go-Go”

Where are The DSC???

So I went for my morning run, at early 30 this morning, and when I got back to the car? No DSC on 100.7 Jack FM… AGAIN!

Now, one day I get. They weren’t on the air yesterday either. Are they on vacation? Doesn’t sound like it from the people I’ve been asking…

And all during the “Love Your Show” Show, Dave Rickards (the D of DSC) kept saying he looked forward to “talking to all of you on the phones next week”.

More as I get it!

Kanye West is and EFFING JERK! VMA VIDEO!

So I came home from work tonight, and everyone was atwitter about how Kanye West RUINED the moment for Taylor Swift.

In the first award of the night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was overcome, and so excited to win Best Female Video for 2009.  Taylor was up against Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

This girl was so happy and excited when she got up to mic.  She was saying she had always wondered what it would be like to win one of these (moonman) and then all hell broke loose!  Kanye “CAPSLOCK” West lost his GD MIND grabbed the mike from poor little Taylor’s hand, and went OFF!  He said that although she did a good video, that BEYONCE did the BEST VIDEO EVER!!

The cut to Beyonce’s face at that moment in time was PRICELESS.  You can see her totally embarassed, and angry about what Kanye was doing to HER and TAYLOR.

WHO DOES THIS A****** THINK HE IS?!?!  You are NOT who you think you are Kanye.  You ARE REPLACEABLE!

And we bloggers and the only ones that think he’s a piece of trash.  Ms. P!NK (who killed her performance of Sober btw) had THIS to say via twitter

Kanye west is the biggest piece of sh*t on earth. Quote me

My heart goes out to taylor swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her.

Actor and former Dancing with the Stars standout Gilles Marini even gave his two cents

“How could He be so brainless” yes referring to Your song with a twist . That was so disrespectful mister West. G

Word is that after his poor choice of self promotion… Kanye West was escorted out of the building, and was not allowed to perform at the VMAs as had been planned.

You’re a jerk Kanye, and I hope you know it.

Douglas on his one man show

Celebrity Icon, Kirk Douglas took to his MYSPACE again today… I love reading what he has to say. Almost as much as his grandkids like icecream

Before I Forget
Current mood: exhausted
I did it — 4 performances of my one man show, Before I Forget, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Full houses and they seemed to like it. It was very gratifying to me but, I am exhausted. At the last night curtain call, my wife came onstage to give me an ice cream cone, then my son Peter entered with my grandson Tyler to give me ANOTHER ice cream cone. At my final bow, my dog Danny came on. I talked about Danny in the show. If any of my friends saw Before I Forget, I would love to hear from you. Now, back to reality.
The world is still in a mess. But I think our president Barack Obama is doing a good job. I just hope that all Americans can pull together and not place so much emphasis on being Democrats or Republicans. Let’s place emphasis on being Americans.
Before I forget, at an earlier show, my son Michael came on to give me an ice cream cone. I’m stuffed. Kirk
