Do you have a few parties that you will be hosting coming up? It is graduation season, and Father’s Day is just around the corner. Whether your graduate is going off to college, getting their very first apartment or starting their first job, it’s time to start planning the menu for the party to honor it all.

Even if you are not hosting, this Artichoke Mustard Baked Brie recipe is even great on a Wednesday night sitting on the couch. That’s how I’ll be enjoying it.

Now, this recipe is a little more involved that the ones I usually but don’t let that worry you. This is easy enough that even I can do it. Just give yourself a little time. You’re basically making a cheese sandwich and wrapping it in puff pastry. Oh goodness that sounds delicious.

Spring Recipe: Sparkling Angel Food Cupcakes

Easter Sparkling Angel Food Cake Cupcakes

Here comes Peter Cottontail… Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its wayyyyy!

Whether you celebrate Easter or simply the return of spring after a really long and cold winter, I have a great dessert sweet treat for you. Angel Food Cupcakes!

These would be wonderful for an Easter party this weekend, with or without the kids. Add some fresh fruit, whipped cream, or just eat them on their own. Yum!

Sparkling Angel Food Cupcakes

Ingredients
1 box angel food cake mix
Strawberry Lemonade Sparkling ICE

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Line muffin pan with paper liners.
Replace water with Sparkling ICE, continue to follow recipe on box as listed.
Beat the cake mix and Sparkling ICE on low speed for 30 seconds.
Raise the speed to medium and beat for an additional minute. The batter will be pale pink and foamy.
Add batter to the liners and fill approximately ¾ full.
Bake according to directions on the box, approximately 15-20 minutes, or until tops of muffins are golden brown.
Serve with fresh strawberries and/or whipped cream.

Grab Your Dipping Forks, Today Is National Cheese Fondue Day!

Oh goodness today is my lucky day!  A day that celebrates CHEESE FONDUE!  April 11th is National Cheese Fondue Day, a time to fire up the fondue pots for food, fun and good conversation.  You all should know this southern California pinup’s absolute love (obsession) with cheese.  Add  in a fun dinner where you get to share the experience of eating together and I am completely sold.

I remember eating fondue when I was little, and I have my own fondue pot now that I break out for fun dinners with friends, or a romantic dinner with someone special.   A chance to enjoy the wonderful-ness of cheese, and having to get in and really share your dining experience with people is my idea of a great meal.

To celebrate, Emmi Roth USA, the US division of the premier Swiss dairy company, is sharing the must-know fon-DO’s of fondue – everything from tips for when you dip to the new ways to do fondue.

Cocktail Thursday: Tell A Lie Day Cocktail Recipes!

This SoCal pinup would have thought that Tell A Lie Day would have been April 1st, but it is April 4th, tomorrow.

Why not celebrate with a few cocktails that celebrate (or rather poke fun) at some of the biggest and funniest liars in that past few years? Sobieski Vodka, creator of the “Truth in Vodka” campaign, is getting into the act by toasting notorious famous liars.

Madoff with the money – Unlike his investments, this cocktail is good
1 ½ oz. Sobieski Vodka
½ oz. triple sec
4 wheels of cucumber (cut into 1/4 inch slices)
½ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
3 oz. lemon-lime soda
Place the cucumber slices in an old-fashioned glass with the lime juice and muddle. Add ice cubes and Sobieski Vodka with triple sec, then top with lemon-lime soda. Stir, garnish with cucumber slice and serve.

The Juice Sobieksi Vodka Cocktail

The Juice- If it doesn’t fit, you must drink it!

1 ½ oz. Sobieski Vanilia Vodka
¼ oz. raspberry liqueur
4 oz. orange juice
¼ oz. sour mix
Lime twist for garnish

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and serve in a tall glass, garnish with a lime twist.
 

 

 

 
Tell A Lie Sobieski Vodka Cocktail

2 oz. Sobieski Raspberry Vodka
½ oz. lemon juice
½ oz. agave nectar
4 mint leaves
8 raspberries
Lemon wheel and raspberry for garnish
In a mixing glass muddle mint leaves, raspberries, lemon juice and agave nectar. Add Sobieski Raspberry Vodka and ice and shake vigorously. Strain and pour into a tall glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and raspberry.

Lifestyle- Cocktail Thursday: Spicy Sriracha Cocktail Recipes

Can we address the spicy condiment in the room please?  Sriracha.  It. Is. Everywhere.  Being from SoCal I cannot go to anyone’s home, or a restaurant without someone breaking out the Sriracha.  The super spicy SoCal sauce has taken over the American taste buds.  And now it is in our cocktails.

I have two hot and spicy Sriracha cocktails for you to break out next time your friends come over for movie night: Dante’s Essence and the Kick-Start.  If you like it on your tater tots, this will be a nice twist to your drink.
