This weekend, January completely won in the celebrity Instagram game not because she flashed what she bought from a shopping spree, or pictures from an expensive vacation, but because of this video:

Lily Allen Is Back On The Music Scene And Making Waves

lily allen sheezus corgis

After a long absence being a mom and a wifey, Lily Allen is back on the scene and making waves. Her new album, Sheezus, hit number 1 in the UK, and hit number 12 here in the states. That’s not too shabby for someone that is has been out of the scene for the past 5 years.

Some call her new album, tongue-in-cheek named Sheezus, “uneven”, but I listen to her new album Sheezus on repeat while at work and would call it everything that is missing in pop music in this moment. Lily’s soft tones, and even her sing-song-rhyming style is much more pleasant to listen to than the shouting that is prevalent in women’s pop (hello Beyonce, Gaga, and Katy Perry, I’m looking at you). And while some men critics that I have read call her bitter because of her song Sheezus where she mentions other women pop tarts, a lot of women find it to be more of all call to action. Why are we pitting against each other when there is room for everyone. *Read the review on Dipped In Cream… That woman is sharp*

Of course, what really makes news is that this mother of two, who pokes fun at how her industry treats women’s bodies in her video for Hard Out Here, has lost a bunch of weight during her promotional tour for Sheezus. And she has spent time in the hospital due to a virus she caught on the road, so let the hard partying over drinking husband is furious tabloid stories begin!

As a fan of Lily Allen and her style of singing whatever is true in the moment, I am very glad to have her back. She has been missed.

Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell) Final Season Interview

Pete-Campbell-Vincent-Kartheiser-airport-mad_men_season_7-Frank-Ockenfels-AMC

Mad Men’s last season started just a few weeks ago and everyone is back to sitting in front of the TV Sunday nights.  The shine may have dulled, but a lot of us are still curious as to what happens to these mid-century advertisers.

AMC sat down with Vincent Kartheiser, aka Pete Campbell and asked him about what makes Pete tick, his style, a fake dog on set and those awful speaker phones.

Q: Is it hard adjusting to life at the SC&P L.A. office? You must miss working with the other actors.

A: It’s mostly hard because I’m kind of a weird duck, and I’ve gotten used to everyone realizing that I’m a weird duck and accepting my weirdness. And now there’s all these new people who I forget that they don’t know that I’m weird.

Q: You live in L.A. Got any advice for Pete on acclimating to the city?

A: Stay off the 405, take Fountain, and don’t believe the hype.

Q: That sounds like that Saturday Night Live sketch, “The Californians,” that jokes about which highways to take in L.A.

A: [Laughs] I love “The Californians!” “I’m just going to leave here and hop on the 101 and exit on Western.” I love that. It’s amazing, amazing.

Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss Opens Up About “Traumatic” Marriage

Peggy Olson Elisabeth Moss AMC tv Mad Men

When Elisabeth Moss had a quickie marriage to SNL’s Fred Armisen, this little Southern California pinup was a little worried. But you know, I hear love is a good thing so what do I know. Then came their divorce in 2010, just 8 months after their wedding, and the rumors of Fred’s infidelity and that he was CRAZY pants.

Elisabeth is finally opening up, kind of, about her celebrity marriage, and it is not a good thing.

“Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn’t think that I was that young,” Moss explains in the March 10 issue of New York magazine. “It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible.”

She continues, “At the same time, it turned out for the best. I’m glad that I’m not there. I’m glad that it didn’t happen when I was 50. I’m glad I didn’t have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that’s probably not going to happen again.”

Now, when the split was announced, Elisabeth’s star was on the rise. She had been nominated for an Emmy for her work as Peggy Olson on Mad Men. That made her PERFECT tabloid fodder.

“I always knew that the stuff that you read is not true, but when I was in the situation and you really, actually read things that you apparently said or did that are 100 percent made up … It’s just the strange, simple thing of, that’s your heart they’re talking about, and it just … it sucks.”

But she admits that she understands America’s fascination with fame: “I enjoy a little gossip. I like looking at photos of celebrities going to Starbucks.”

It is too bad that the interviewer even went there about her marriage to Armisen. Elisabeth Moss is such a good actress in her own right, and she should get more kudos for THAT!
