What an amazing night! BusyBeeBlogger.com could not have asked for a greater group of guests at the #Sips4Sandy event December 14th at Fifty Barrels Winery.

Bloggers and community members came to have a great time, as well as help families hit by Super Storm Sandy. New York and New Jersey were both helped on this fabulous boardwalk themed party.

All guests were treated to not just a good time, fun food (hello cotton candy!!), and sangria, but before they were whisked off into the night, they were given a stuffed goody bag. Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser – BusyBeeBlogger.com

As I said in my previous post about Hurricane Sandy, she’s a real b!tch. Unfortunately many of those who lost everything in her wake, are still going without the basic necessities. THAT is something that this little busy bee cannot sit idly by and take.

BusyBeeBlogger.com is holding a fundraiser here on the left coast for those hit by Sandy on the East Coast. There will be a cocktail party with prizes here in SoCal, with all the benefits going to non-profits in New Jersey and New York.

The event is scheduled for early December and all are welcome to attend.

But that’s not all…

BusyBeeBlogger is also adopting THREE FAMILIES WHO LOST EVERYTHING due to Sandy. They have not asked us for help, but I cannot sit here and just talk about how “tragic” the whole thing is. I will be collecting items that the families need, especially gift cards, such as Target, JCP, Old Navy. I was told that those would be the most helpful. One of the mothers said her family’s clothes STILL smell like oil from the flooding even though she’s washed them 9 times. Let’s get them some new clothes, ok?!

The Aftermath of Sandy … that b!tch

Ug, watching the news all the time, like I do, has made me feel so impotent when it comes to the East Coast right now. I have so many friends and family from Florida to Maine!!! Every one of them has been hit by that b!tch Sandy, and now there’s another storm hitting them!

My partner’s grandma lives in New Jersey, so not as hard hit as Staten Island or Massapequa *prayers are with you*, but her power has been out for over a week. What was the first thing she did? Laundry. Lots of it! She’s a woman after my own heart that’s for sure. No word on if the new storm is expected to knock out power again, though. Sheesh!

In order to do SOMETHING, I decided to take a cue from all of my East Coast friends. It seems like everyone was getting batteries, water, and cocktail fixings for the storms. So, BusyBeeBlogger.com is following suit and throwing a cocktail party to raise money for those hit by these storms. Tentative date is December 7 and all are invited to come!!!

The Jersey Shore Idea

My friend’s sister last night (whose own site is coming soon) had a genius idea. She suggested that the members of “The Jersey Shore” do a HUGE fund raiser for The REAL Jersey Shore in the aftermath of Sandy. Maybe in Las Vegas? Pauly D. could spin, and Snooki could MC and Mike “The Situation” could.. uh… take photos with people on the dance floor. DO IT!

Considering the havoc these people have caused on the shore, and all of the money they made from stumbling around as drunken fools in the sand, I think it would be the right thing to do.

Let’s get it going!

Who else should do Jersey themed fundraisers?

I might have to do a fundraiser here in SoCal, and now it may be Jersey Shore Themed! I’ll keep you updated.
