Mini Break and Spa Night Ideas For This Stressful Holiday Time

Jamie Krell lifestyle expert Good Earth Tea

This little pinup knows that this is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but goodness there certainly is a lot of rushing around!  Even in supposedly laid back SoCal it seems that there isn’t one bit of spare time unless I cut out a few moments.  Luckily for all of us,  beauty, fashion and lifestyle expert Jamie Krell has some  get-gorgeous skin tips that she uses with celebs.  Use these simple ideas to prep for a big event or occasion, or just use regularly for radiant skin every day!

  • Make a green tea and honey face mask to get glowing skin. Mix moistened green leaves (just cut open a green tea bag) with honey to form a paste and coat your entire face – leave for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. Use once or twice a week leading up to your big event.
  • Drink white tea (two cups a day!) since it’s known to be packed with anti-oxidants and protect skin – it also promotes healthy and radiant skin to give your complexion an all over glow.  Think of it as “TeaGaming” – hydrating from the inside out to prep for a big event. If you’re going to drink two cups a day, it needs to be a killer flavor that you’ll enjoy every time.  One of Krell’s faves is Good Earth’s new Mango Me Crazy, a blend of bold, juicy fruit flavors. The brand’s fusions have pumped up flavors and unique combinations. Even better – they’re made with all-natural ingredients and you don’t need to add any sweetener.
  • Go into your own kitchen cabinet! Use apple cider vinegar as a toner to keep skin looking tight and firm. Dilute with some water and use twice a day.
  • Mix baking soda with water and use as face wash or mix with some of your cleanser for an effective exfoliator. Helps with breakouts and to keep skin clear!

Tomorrow, I will have a few mocktail recipes for you to enjoy on your girls night in, or throughout the holiday entertaining season.   Nothing like a little bit of Ahhhh when everyone else is starting to stress.  ;-)

RECAP – Pretty As A Pin Up Presented By Sensa Weight Loss

Tracy of A Beautiful Mess, and Maegan of Chronically Distracted (Via Fifty Barrels Winery Group )

Whew, I have FINALLY recovered from the Pretty As A Pin Up presented by Sensa Weight Loss networking event held on May 24th!

This invite only bloggers networking event was quite the talk of the town, and we are so gratefully to everyone that came and those that sponsored the event!  Everyone had a fabulous time, and Maegan of Chronically Distracted and I are already talking about what we can do next.

RELATED: Pretty As A Pin Up SoCal Savvy Mom

During the evening, local lifestyle, gossip, and “mommy” bloggers were welcomed to Fifty Barrels Winery Group‘s private barrel room.  Retro music filled the space, and all of the attendees were treated to plenty of food, wine, and conversation as the evening went on.

We <3 Fifty Barrels Winery

Since it was on a Thursday evening, we were able to take part in  Fifty Barrels’ $4 glasses throughout the evening.  Quite the deal considering some of the wines are $8 a glass the rest of the week.  *happy bloggers indeed*

The lovely ladies of Sensa Weight Loss.  Thank  you for sponsoring our event!

The promotional team for Pretty As A Pin Up’s  title sponsor, Sensa Weight Loss even made an appearance and enjoyed the party!   Yes you can eat at party as part of the Sensa Weight Loss regimen.  Even the cup cakes.

Chronically Distracted Maegan stirring up the pulled pork sandwiches.  Yummy yum yum!

Food for the evening was provided for by Chronically Distracted and Busy Bee Blogger.  The favorite food of the night were the Cook N Shoupe gluten free BBQ sauces.   Bloggers were putting it on everything from pulled pork sandwiched to sliced veggies.   This was especially exciting considering some of the bloggers are gluten free!  Yum.

Attendees were also able to sample Peep Show firming body lotion from Venue Sponsor The Body Bartender.  Their “body products for the pin-up girl in you” are paraben free and smell delicious.  I overheard the winemaker (Brian) from Fifty Barrels say “It smells like Hawaii”.  It must have been a hit as most of the bottle was gone by the time we were packing up.

During the event, attendees were asked to make a donation to the Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit set up to provide immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.  We were able to raise $70 for the organization.

Gift Bags

No networking event is complete without a gift bag to take home at the end of the night.  And might I say, wow, our sponsors really came through for us on these.

Title sponsor Sensa Weight Loss provided a one month starter kit for all attendees.  This included month one sprinkles, three Sensa Quench drink mixes, and two bags of chews.

The Body Bartender also donated bottles of their Peek a Booty cellulite fighting cream, Tattoo Protection Cream(with SPF 30 sunscreen), and Peep Show firming body lotion.

Bags also included an assortment of teas from Good Earth Tea.  And some received bottles of resource Natural Spring Water.

Sassy Lemonade also donated a custom designed necklace for our best dressed blogger, Tracy from A Beautiful Mess.

Maegan Chronically Distracted, and BusyBeeBlogger with Denise, Joe and Brian from Fifty Barrels Winery Group.

Again, we want to thank everyone who attended, tweeted photos, and all of our sponsors for making this quite the event.  Maegan and I look forward to doing our next event and cannot wait for it to happen.

xoxo – Bee

A big thank you to all of our generous sponsors.  Please check them out!
