Tyra Banks Quits Her Show

You heard me right! Tyra Banks quits this Bish and is out of the daytime talk show circuit. Her popular TV talk show will be over Spring 2010.

“This will be the last season of The Tyra Show,” Banks tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.”

I think girl just ran out of self centered stories. I’m sure that even if Mackenzie Phillips was on her show, Tyra Banks would make it all about her in some way.

So instead of talking about herself everyday, Tyra says she’s going to focus on producing movies.

“My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” Banks says.

I can only imagine the movies she’s going to make. A pretty girl who no one appreciates, but she overcomes the odds of being beautiful to be a lingerie model turned talk show host and movie producer.

Ellen DeGeneres is The New American Idol Judge

With Paula Abdul not returning for the newest season of American Idol there has been a bit of a scramble to find a replacement. There have been special guest judges though with Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, and rumor of the Jonas Brothers. I like that idea best. They did hire that other judge (no one really cares who she is) last season, who tore off her dress at the season finale, so why they need a 4th full time judge is beyond me.

Anyways, a new full time judge has been chosen and no it’s not your cousin who sends her text message every 10 seconds. Ellen DeGeneres has taken up the mantel of AI Judge!

“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol,” DeGeneres says. “I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”

Ummm… I know Ellen dances on her TV show, and she’s been a stand up comedian for decades, but she’s not a singer. Does that matter? I mean, at least Paula Abdul had been a singer. With hit albums I might add.

Do you like the idea of Ellen joining Simon, Randy, and whats-her-name? Does it matter that she’s not a singer? Or do you like the fan aspect of Ellen?

Grey Gardens LA Premier

Last night, Drew Barrymore and her hair were to the focus of the premier of Grey Gardens. I love that she’s so bold and didn’t go with an asymmetrical one strapped dress, and simple clutch, gladiator heels. She’s just into what she’s into and it works for her! And I love it.

Sure her hair is as big as she is, but who cares. I mean really. She does it full knowing it’s in fun. Just like that gawd awful tongue ring.

Man, I don’t remember the last time I saw so much press for an HBO movie! Drew Barrymore has been EVERYWHERE working her tush off to get press for Grey Gardens. She was on Letterman, Regis and Kelly, and Ellen all in the past few days. While she was on Ellen she addressed the rumors she is back with Justin Long.

>”You were a couple,” the inquisitive TV host says to Barrymore on Friday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Then you broke up, but you’re together a lot now.”

“We’re good friends, and were doing a film this summer,” replies Barrymore, who herself notes, “and I think it’s very confusing.” Their upcoming movie, after they already costarred in He’s Just Not That Into You, will be Going the Distance. They’ll play a couple threatened by the obstacles posed by their long-distance relationship.

“Yes, he was at the premiere in New York,” says Barrymore. “We’re dear friends. I guess people find it a little confusing. I totally understand. It seems like, ‘What is the deal with them?,’ but we just adore each other. We’re in each other’s lives, and we’re friends, and we’re working together, and we have worked together.”

DeGeneres, 51, then wondered if Barrymore is back to seeing Long exclusively, or is someone else also in the picture? “We’re just friends,” Barrymore emphasizes, “so we are free to do whatever we want.”

That seems like a lot of fun, but who knows if this works in the long run. I love that she’s so respectful of the people she’s dated.
