I guess when NBC suspends you “indefinitely” it means two work days. After being “indefinitely suspended” from his MSNBC gig on Friday for breaking NBC’s rules on political donations, Keith Olbermann will be returning this afternoon.
The General Electric Co. network had originally suspended Mr. Olbermann—one of its biggest stars—indefinitely, without pay, citing NBC News policies against political donations. But in a statement, network President Phil Griffin said he had “determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night’s program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy.” He added: “We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night.” [WSJ]
Olbermann was suspended after the Politico reported about his breaking NBC’s rules on making political donations. Keith donated to the campaigns of three Democratic politicians, one of which made an appearance on his television show.
I don’t think anyone questions which way Olbermann leans, politically speaking, but if your boss has rules, don’t break the rules! But why do I get the feeling this is the best thing to EVER happen to Olbermann’s ratings? I’m even tempted to DVR his show, just to see if he says anything about all this.
