We’re all cynical, jaded, gossip hounds around here.  So when it came out that Kelsey Grammer was asking a judge to expedite his divorce by a few weeks, well, many were thinking that his now fiancee was pregnant again.  But they would be mistaken!

Kelsey explained that the reason he wants to be free of exwife Camille so fast is because he is in looooooooooooooove with Kayte Walsh.

“Kayte and I are marrying because we are engaged, and we are engaged because we are in love and see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer,” the actor tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Grammer does not say when the nuptials will happen, but adds: “We are planning something we wish to be a private affair among several of our friends. Anything else is conjecture and false. Kayte and I are the only reliable source for this story. End of story.”

Hmmm, I’m going to guess and say that they had a New Year’s themed wedding in mind. But that’s just me and I’m not a “reliable source”. But why else would he want the divorce to be final just a few weeks early??

Meh, we’ll find out in a few days, won’t we.
