It’s You Versus the Pine Tree Needles – Shark Rocket Vacuum Review

Shark Rocket Vacuum Review. The versatile and lightweight shark rocket vacuum makes cleaning up easy as pie.

Can we talk about the worst part of the holidays? Cleaning up after all the of the wonderful guests that you have coming into your home. That, and pine needles, so. many. pine. needles. All over the floor. I hate Christmas tree needles.

The best way to battle the Christmas tree needles, and the mess from everyone coming to celebrate in your home has to be my new Shark Rocket vacuum. This lightweight and versatile vacuum can take on whatever you throw at it. Heavy traffic dirt, stairs, fine powders (for all of those cookie baking mishaps that are sure to happen) and yes, even pine needles.

stairs make me not want to vacuum ever again. Thanks to the Shark Rocket Vacuum for making that chore easier.
What really excited me about the new Shark Rocket Vacuum was how lightweight it is. I recently moved into a place that has a set of stairs. I have not had to vacuum stars in years! Then, once all of the boxes are mostly unpacked, and I could not handle to dirt everywhere, I remembered just how awful it is to have to schlep a full size vacuum up and down the stairs. I do not want to do that. Ever. The shark rocket and its detatchable pieces, make vacuuming my stairs less of a terrible chore. It is light, and the chord is long enough that I can go all the way up without worrying I have to stop and plug in somewhere else.

Not only is this Shark Rocket Vacuum good on stairs, it can suck up your baking mishaps. If you follow me on Twitter, you saw that I may or may not have had to put down an entire box of baking soda in the back seat of my car due to a fish mishap. The Shark Rocket adjusted down to a hand held size small vacuum making it perfect for cleaning my SUV. The baking soda did not stand a chance against the Shark Rocket and was gone in no time.

Switch out the accessories on the Shark Rocket Vacuum and it goes from a full size stand up to a hand held in no time.

If you are looking to have a powerful teammate in your corner this year to fight against mess in your home, I suggest you get yourself a Shark Rocket Vacuum. It is lightweight, versatile, and easy to change out all of the accessories. Make your life as easy as possible, you have enough to stress out about during this time of year. But those pine needles don’t have to be one of them.

Cocktail Thursday: Candy Cane Cooler

The Candy Cane Cocktail brings the iconic flavors of the Christmas Holiday season to your new favorite drink. Peppermint candy cane in cocktail form.

Christmas Holiday Cocktail Recipe

This holiday season just begs for its own line of cocktails. Nothing pronounces winter and the holiday season louder than the candy cane. The peppermint flavor and iconic red and white stripes bring to mind of happy holiday memories. This Christmas season cocktail is full of tastes and colors for the holiday. With vodka, brandy and creme de menthe the winter cocktail brings a very adult version of the candy cane to your next party for everyone to enjoy.

Candy Cane Cooler Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:
1 tbs crushed soft peppermint candy
1½ fl oz vodka
splash of white creme de menthe
¼ fl oz brandy
½ fl oz half-and-half
Crushed ice
Peppermint stick for garnish
Mint sprig for garnish

Directions:
Combine the vodka and crushed peppermint. Stir to dissolve. Add the remaining ingredients, stir and garnish.

These would look lovely in a low tumbler or even in copper mugs usually reserved for Cuba libres or Moscow mules. Especially with the sprig of mint of the peppermint candy cane sticking out of the top. Be sure to have all of the copper mugs or glass tumblers out displayed for everyone to see when they come into the party. I just think they look so pretty all in a row together, especially the shiny copper mugs. You do not need to have the cocktails pre-made but having the glasses in a row on a table or counter top adds a bit of a decorative touch to your affair.

What are you favorite flavors of the holiday season? Do you add creme de menthe to any other classic cocktails during Christmas time, or do you stick to the classics?

This cocktail recipe was originally developed by NoMaSocial in New Rochelle, New York.

Carlsbad Park Hyatt Aviara Kicks Off The Holidays In Style

Carlsbad Hyatt Aviara holiday open house in Southern California near San Diego had perfect weather for the Christmas event

The winter holiday season was on full display this past weekend at Carlsbad’s Park Hyatt Aviara Resort.  On Saturday, Aviara held its first annual Holiday Open House and welcomed everyone from the community to join in on the fun.  Attendees were greeted by carolers in Dicken’s style costume, Christmas tress all through the resort, and a winter wonderland outside.  There were beautfilly decorated gingerbread houses on display as well as a model train in the main entrance.

Park Hyatt Aviara Carlsbad Holiday Open House. Gingerbread houses brought the Christmas feel to this wonderful winter holiday party Children were more than welcome at this celebration.  There was a station just for decorating cookies, as well as a giant movie screen on the lawn playing The Grinch.  There was even “snow” falling outside on the lawn, and a “Peppermint Princess” read stories to the children outside.

Southern California Carlasbad Park Hyatt Aviara Holiday Open house featured Christmas trees that were raffled off for charity

Inside, the hallways were filled with Christmas Trees decorated in their own themes.  Each of which were to be auctioned off  to raise money for charity.  There were also hot chocolate and hot cider stations, complete with plenty of marshmallows for guests of all ages to enjoy.  As an extra special treat, complimentary sparkling wine was available for the adults to sip on while taking in the scenery.

Beautiful Christmas trees were found all throughout Aviara Park Hyatt during their holiday open house.

We had a great time walking around the Holiday Open House at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad. It was quite the change of pace from our every day and a nice way to kick off the holiday season.  We drank sparkling wine, walked out on the lawn and watched the “snow” fall on the kids playing near the fountain.  There was also a photo booth for everyone to take their pictures in, and we saw plenty of people, adults and kids alike, carrying photo strips around the rest of the night.

This was a lovely evening and we hope that this will become a Southern California tradition akin to the Carlsbad flower field in the Summer.
