Step aside what’s her name, Olympic athlete formerly known as Bruce Jenner, has officially broken the internet. Now going by the name of Caitlyn Jenner, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star showed the world her new look on the cover of Vanity Fair. And we have to say, it’s a gorgeous shot. The story was photographed by what must be the only photographer in the entertainment world besides pervy Terry Richardshon: Annie Leibovitz. Leibovitz and her team turned newly minted Caitlyn Jenner into a Hollywood’s Golden Age screen siren/glamorous pinup girl. The cover of Vanity Fair shows a coquettish Jenner in an off white corset, posing in a corner. And we have to say her hair is amazing. To go with the cover release, VF also released the above video of Caitlyn speaking about becoming a woman. In the video we get a behind the scenes peek at the photo shoot, watching Annie and Caitlyn talking together in grainy black and white. And it doesn’t stop there. Caitlyn Jenner’s Twitter account broke a world record. 1 million followers in 4 hours. This garnered a response “@Caityln_Jenner: Another Jenner world record, and at 65? Who’da thought! Humbled & honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs. Thank you for your support.” We can only imagine what will come out of this event. There will be a show on E! that follows Bruce Jenner turning into Caitlyn Jenner, that was already announced. But what after that? Will Caitlyn follow in the famous family footsteps hosting parties in Las Vegas, doing photo shoots for V Magazine, a game app with her name on it? Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. We hope that Caitlyn will keep working, especially at the public speaking that Bruce became known for AFTER the Olympic win. We would hate to see Caitlyn just be a commodity like other family members who are famous for doing nothing, but it’s up to Caitlyn what she does now. Summer Cocktail Recipe Summer brings out the fun in all of us. We wear our hair a little more relaxed, flip-flops or bejeweled sandals become completely appropriate footwear even in the office, and even our cocktails get a little more laid back with the rules. No Summer cocktail embodies that better than Sangria. With Sangria recipes are more of a suggestion and an estimate than an exact science. Even when making our new Busy Bee Blogger Sangria recipe, the amounts should be read as -ish: 1 ounce-ish, 1/4 ounce-ish, quarter cup-ish. In that spirits, we’re not using wine for our Sangria recipe, we are using the new UV Vodka Sangria instead. Fantastically easy, and great for people that don’t like red wine. It’s Summer, loosen up a little. Besides, the heat makes it nearly impossible to measure correctly anyway, so just so with it. Busy Bee Summer Sangria Recipe We wrote this recipe for one, because let’s be honest, you’re not always entertaining others when you want some Summer in a glass. But you can always make this in a giant pitcher and bring it out on the porch for you and your friends. Like I said, this is our suggestions for a great Summer Sangria, go with it. Ingredients 1 oz. UV Sangria 1/4 oz. Ruby Red Grapefruit UV Vodka 1/4 oz. Triple Sec 1 1/2 oz. Grape and cranberry juice Frozen oranges, strawberries, blackberries, pomegranate seeds Sliced Limes Sparkling water/club soda Grab your favorite outdoor glass, and place your frozen fruit in the bottom. I suggest muddling the fruit a little but don’t crush them. You want them to be mostly whole. Using these frozen fruits will keep your drink cold without watering it down. Pour in the UV Sangria, UV Grapefruit, triple sec, and juice. Stir. Add enough club soda to fill your glass top with a sliced lime. TIP Premake some of this mix and keep it chilled in the fridge, minus the club soda and frozen fruit. That way it is ready to go when you are and it will be nice and cold. CHEERS! I have a weakness for lemon cocktail recipes. Living in Southern California, all I have to do to get a little lemon for my drink is to walk outside and pick it off of my own tree and add them to my cocktail recipe of choice. Not a bad deal. I love the tangy citrus taste and the lemon vodka cocktails just taste so good during the summer in the heat. I recently found a new vodka and a new lemon cocktail recipe. Hangar One Vodka is based in Alameda, near San Francisco, CA and we are all about the California love here at Busy Bee Blogger. The Lavender Enlightenment cocktail brings lemon together with lavender. This is a vodka cocktail that you have when you really want to enjoy yourself and just relax. The lavender brings on the calm and the lemon scent has been known to balance out energy and emotions. Channel your inner peace with this simple and bright spring cocktail courtesy of Hangar One Vodka. For best results, use a sprig of lavender from your garden, and some nectar from the local neighborhood honeybees. See the recipe for this a delightful seasonal sip below. 2 oz. Hangar One Buddha’s Hand Citron Vodka 3/4 oz. lavender honey syrup* 3/4 oz. lemon bianco vermouth Garnish with fresh lavender Method: Shake vigorously and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with fresh lavender. *To make lavender honey syrup, combine equal parts lavender honey and hot water. You can always use this cocktail as an excuse to visit your local farmers market. We have these all week long in Southern California and you are almost certain to find lemons and lavender there somewhere. Or plant the lavender in your yard and have this ready all year long. You’ll be the queen of enlightenment, so calm that Buddha will be jealous. Cheers! *Blog for Southern California Lifestyle.
