The Interview Where We Talk Cocktails, Love and Books #BrujaOnBooks

bruja on books is yolanda shoshana's radio show that explores women and writing

Earlier this week I was interviewed by the wonderful Yolanda Shoshana for her radio show, Bruja on Books. Yolanda is known as an erotica author, a spiritualist, and all around bad ass woman. On her show, Bruja on Books, we discuss how to build a great bar and what spirits to have on hand for the holidays, what my favorite cocktails are to drink at home and while I am out, and we cannot forget the best cocktails to serve when you’re feeling frisky. And since it is a show about books, I also give Yolanda my favorite cocktail books for you to enjoy.

A new episode of my radio show, ‪#‎BrujaOnBooks‬ has dropped. This episode I chat with Cari Bee from Busy Bee Blogger. We talk cocktails, love, and seduction. Me to the ow! (Yolanda Shoshana’s Google plus)

angelina jolie as maleficent disney poster

Halloween is almost here, and I am expecting many Maleficent costume wearing trick or treaters (or their mothers) to be ringing my doorbell on Friday. It is either that or Elsa from Frozen. It will be a great good versus evil struggle for the ages I am sure.

If you are going to be one of the fabulous that choose Maleficent as your Halloween costume, do it justice with an amazing makeup worthy of Angelina Jolie’s jutting cheekbones.

Carly Musleh of Beauty Sauce nailed this Maleficent Makeup Look in her video how to tutorial that you can copy for Halloween this Friday. On her site, she also lists out the type of makeup and tools she uses in the video to get this Maleficent look.

DIY- REAL Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

pumpkin spice latte made with real pumpkin and unrefined sugar in a glass with whipped cream

It may be over 100 degrees here in Southern California, but we love our pumpkin spice lattes. And now you can leave the drama of “What the what do they actually put into my PSL?” at the coffee shop. I have a pumpkin spice latte recipe that uses REAL pumpkin, and unrefined sugar.

This would be great for a get together on a (not so hot) weekend with friends, or even if you had a Halloween costume party with the neighborhood. REAL PUMPKIN in your pumpkin spice latte, unrefined sugar and nothing fake. You will sure to be a hit as the hostess with the best keep them warm and toasty while Trick-or-treating recipe. Or you could just make this for yourself as you drive on into work. No need to pay the coffee shop $5 for what you can make at home.

Del Mar Racetrack Opens Today! How To Celebrate At Home!

Opening day at the Del Mar Race Track races means cocktails, mingling, and all the best dressed hats in Southern California.

Hats, hats and more hats. That is all you will see about the Del Mar Racetrack today. There is even a contest today at during the opening day festivities for the best hat, and these women take it serious! You’ll see plenty of hats, tight dresses, and women getting their heels stuck in the dirt in the parking lot… and the grass at the entryway. Please be careful ladies.

If you cannot make it to Del Mar for Opening Day at the racetrack hold your own festivities at home! Get a great big hat, and bedazzle as you wish. On an episode of The Girls Next Door Bridget Marquardt hot glued my little ponies to her hat. It was perfect!

You can also watch the races on cable at home. Yes, there is a cable channel for horse racing. Why not gather the friends around, bring your hats, and watch the races. If you can’t watch the races, rent some old movies like National Velvet, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Seabiscuit, or Secretariat.

You can also mix up some horse race themed cocktails!
