Don’t confuse Dita Von Teese’s new perfume with other “celebrity frangances”, please. Hers is for grown up girls, not little girls playing dress up. And it’s Bulls–t free!
“It’s a fragrance for everyone, and I’m really proud of the level of sophistication we reached both with the packaging and the fragrance,” she tells WWD [via People]. “There’s no fruity vanilla bull—t. I’m sorry, but you know what I mean? A lot of celebrity fragrances are fruit, vanilla, and I wanted something for grown-up girls.”
Why did she start making her signature scent? After all, she’s been wearing a scent for years!
“My signature fragrance that I’ve been wearing since I was 14 is Quelques Fleurs, and I had to stop wearing it because my boyfriend’s mother wore it,” she explains. “So that was a perfect time to develop my own fragrance.”
Yeah, smelling like her Count boyfriend’s mother isn’t very sexy. Not to say that his mom isn’t sexy in her own right, but that’s not what you want to turn your cabana boy on, for sure!
So, what does the burlesque queen want to smell like?
“We’ve only just come up with the scent, so I’m still working on my lingo, but it’s a lot of luscious flowers — Bulgarian rose, tiare, peony — and there’s a sexy wood,”
I cannot wait! Unfortunately, this will be released this fall in Australia first (no offense) for $32. Other markets (US included) will follow in 2012. Gosh, Australia gets her lingerie line first AND her perfume first??? Any of my Australian readers want to send me a gift or two??
