Dove Wants You To Make A Difference In Girl’s Self Esteem

The first weekend of October, 5-7, Dove held it’s self esteem weekend around the country. This was a time for all of us to discuss what real beauty is with our young women, and girls.

“Let’s Talk” is the theme of this year’s Dove® Self-Esteem Weekend, because you can help a girl develop a positive relationship with beauty by simply having a conversation. To kick-off the Weekend, on October 5^thDove® is hosting a self-esteem building rally and then will “Walk the Talk” with mentors and girls from their partner organizations (Girls, Inc., Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Girl Scouts of the U.S.A), by marching in silence to the heart of Times Square. They’re marching in silence to represent all the conversations about beauty anxiety that haven’t taken place.

Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser – BusyBeeBlogger.com

As I said in my previous post about Hurricane Sandy, she’s a real b!tch. Unfortunately many of those who lost everything in her wake, are still going without the basic necessities. THAT is something that this little busy bee cannot sit idly by and take.

BusyBeeBlogger.com is holding a fundraiser here on the left coast for those hit by Sandy on the East Coast. There will be a cocktail party with prizes here in SoCal, with all the benefits going to non-profits in New Jersey and New York.

The event is scheduled for early December and all are welcome to attend.

But that’s not all…

BusyBeeBlogger is also adopting THREE FAMILIES WHO LOST EVERYTHING due to Sandy. They have not asked us for help, but I cannot sit here and just talk about how “tragic” the whole thing is. I will be collecting items that the families need, especially gift cards, such as Target, JCP, Old Navy. I was told that those would be the most helpful. One of the mothers said her family’s clothes STILL smell like oil from the flooding even though she’s washed them 9 times. Let’s get them some new clothes, ok?!
