During tonight’s Dancing With The Stars (and BBB’s Twitter Party) Kristi Herman will be making her debut! Kristi won Dove’s “Real Woman” and she will be dancing for all of America to see. After combing through thousands of amazing entries, Dove® chose one real woman, Kristi Herman from New Jersey, to fly out for an intensive week of training with ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Season 10 performer Damian Whitewood in LA.
BusyBeeBlogger was able to talk with Kristi and ask a few questions about her Dove/DWTS experience.
In her audition tape (seen here), Kristi mentioned that she loves to dance! So I wanted to know if she had any dance lessons prior to this past week in Los Angeles. She told me that she had been inspired by Dancing With The Stars and took a ballroom lesson a few years ago. But it was basic and primarily for social experience. Nothing like her training for DWTS “L.A. was VERY intense.”
So what was the HARDEST part about the training? I mean, we see celebs train week after week and we get to hear all their complaints. Blisters, ego bruises, and being hungry all the time! Kristi says that the most difficult part wasn’t just the blisters she got, or that it was “grueling on the body”. Nope, the hardest part, was all of the cameras following her every move! They were “EVERYWHERE!”
Someone that has been in her dancing shoes is former 90210 star, and DWTS contestant Jennie Garth! Jennie acted as Kristi’s fairy godmother. Her best advice? “Relax, enjoy yourself and have fun”. Kristi also told me that Jennie’s just being there “put me at ease”. Garth also gave her tips on smiling for the camera and how to hold her hands during the filming of her dance.
As for what she got out of this? “This experience is beyond anything I can dream of. Anything can happen in your life.” And advice to other women: Love yourself and take good care of yourself and your skin”.
As for that dance, she doesn’t even know how it turned out! After a week of training in Los Angeles, she will have to wait until TONIGHT and watch DANCING WITH THE STARS with the rest of us to see how it turned out.
GOOD LUCK KRISTI!!!
