A snow storm is hitting the North East, snowpocalypse 2015, and it is going to get cold my friends. And while it is not even close to the crazy snow that is set to hit the North East, Southern California is about to be hit by rain. This is the perfect time for warm, cozy, comfort food.

Sam the cooking guy in the kitchen Sam Livecast

Chicken and Mushroom Bacon Hot Dish - Sam the cooking guy made this amazingly delicious hot dish when BusyBeeBlogger visited him on set last year. This may look like a simple casserole, but it holds together everything that can be amazing about a snow day. This hot dish blends together the delicious flavors of Sriacha, bacon, a nice creamy sauce and of course everybody’s favorite, tater tots. Grab a plate.

How To Get The Best Hair From The SAG Awards: Emma Stone, Julianne Moore

Screen actors guild awards

Last night was one of the most favorite awards show of the season. The actors love the Screen Actors Guild Award even if we’re just getting used to it being on TV. Of course the SAG awards is just another excuse for them to get dressed up and get their hair done. Two of the resounding favorites from last night were Emma Stone and her pony tail with absolutely not flyaways in our super dry weather in southern California, and Julianne Moore with her soft waves.

red white and blue pinup girl americana

It is PIE DAY! Let’s all go and celebrate and eat pies until we just cannot move anymore. Apple, cherry, berry, lemon merinque (my favorite) or if you want to get savory what about a pizza pie or frito pie?

175 Best Mini Pie Recipes Sweet To Savory fold over pies Want to make your own pie but don’t want to eat the whole thing? Cookbook 175 Best Mini Pie Recipes: Sweet to Savory is perfect for making your favorite pies in miniature. Move over cupcakes, tiny pies are taking over. With recipes that move from sweet to savory you can make these to take to a party, or as my friend ended up doing, bring them back packing with you out in the mountains of California. Not a bad snack when you’re climbing through Mammoth, or having cocktails in San Diego.

apple of my pie amoretti syrups cocktail

If you’re not into sitting down and eating a slice of pie, how about a pie cocktail? The Apple Of My Pie – Celebrate Fall Cocktail is like having an apple pie in a glass. The base is spiced rum, so that is a great start to any cocktail that will turn into an apple pie. You can even add a dollop of whipped cream and crushed nuts on top if you want to make it even more like a real apple pie. But I would suggest against the slice of cheddar cheese.

Quiche Lorraine a la hops Quiche is a type of pie. Pie made of delicious eggs and cheese. The Quiche Lorraine a la Hops is perfect for breakfast or a friendly brunch. Or if you come to my house, we will probably be having it for dinner with hollandaise sauce poured all over it. YUM!

How will you celebrate Pie Day?

Video: The New England Patriots Get Growing Pains Treatment

Patriots wide reciever Julain Edelman made this Growing Pains themed throwback Thursday video for the New England Patriots

With everyone (not really) being obsessed with the size of the Patriots’ balls during the championship football game last week, (Deflate gate? Really?) this video is a welcome laugh.

Jualina Edelman wide reciever for the New England Patriots took his team and gave the “Growing Pains” treatment. Taking old photos of his teammates, Edelman set them to the theme music for the 1980s hit show, and all for Throwback Thursday. Don’t know what that is? Just go on social media on any given Thursday and you are sure to see old and embarrasing fashion mistakes in photos of your friends.

I’m not even a Patriots fan and this video gave me the giggles. But does anyone else think that that photo of coach Bill Belichick looks like the emperor from Star Wars? Creepy.

Enjoy and yes, you will have this song in your head for the rest of the day.
