Apple Of My Pie – Celebrate Fall Cocktail

Caramel Apple Rum Cocktail Recipe

Fall is officially here.  You can feel it in the air, and in the unofficial fruit of the season, the apple.
Today’s cocktail is celebrating fall and the yummy apple.  Where we live in North San Diego County, apples are a big part of the Fall season.  It is a tradition to head up to the small town of Julian, pick some apples in the nearby orchards, or just go to town and have a few slices of crumble topped hot apple pie.  We suggest buying enough to bring home, but somehow the pies always end up losing a slice or two on the ride back home.
I have to say that this little cocktail is quite the tasty treat during a Santa Ana, or cozying up to someone on a chilly night. Serve these in either Hammered Copper Moscow Mule Mugs , or clear glass tumblers so you can see slices of apples inside the cocktail.

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Optional: top with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Apples aren’t only for Autumn. Bring this Caramel Apple Cocktail into the winter celebrations as well.
This fall inspired cocktail would be great for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or celebrating the little kids’ return to school.  That would be cocktails for the parents, not the kids.  You can also bring this caramel apple cocktail into winter. Great for cozy nights near Christmas, or a New Years Even celebration at home.
