Kids at San Clemente High School were not expecting THIS on the first day of school. SCHS is on LOCKDOWN right now due to a bomb threat!
KFI is reporting that the threat originated on Camp Pendleton where a Navy Corpsman, who has gone missing, left a note saying he had planted bombs at the High School. WTF!!!
According to a message on the school’s website, “Orange County sheriff’s officers are investigating a bomb threat at San Clemente High School. At the direction of sheriff’s officers, the entire SCHS staff and student body were evacuated to the stadium after it was inspected and declared safe.
“Parents and other community members are asked not to go to the school at this time. Security personnel and officers are guarding the stadium and prohibiting entry onto the campus.”
Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino told ABC7 the written threat was discovered among the personal belongings of a missing Navy corpsman at Camp Pendleton, which contacted sheriff’s officials shortly before 9 a.m.
“His barracks was searched by military police,” he said. “… In his barracks they found a note that he placed explosives at San Clemente High School. The high school has been evacuated, 3,200 students, 180 staff have been evacuated. The entire school has been locked down, secured.”
What in the WORLD?!?!!? The kids and staff have been evacuated to the school’s stadium, which was already inspected and found to be free of explosives.
Parents and guardians are asked to AVOID THE SCHOOL AREA AT THIS TIME. Rushing to the High School will just cause traffic pile ups and you CANNOT get your children at this point, anyway. THEY ARE SAFE WHERE THEY ARE!!!
Parents were urged to call the school district’s rumor control hotline, (949) 234-5575 for more information.
