Jason Statham Looking Good In LA

The star of The Mechanic, Jason Statham , was spotted running errands in Los Angeles earlier this week. Even in a T-shirt and jeans the action star looks H-A-W-T. Although he did seem a little peeved at the photographers.

Who cares, we got our photos of Jason, and that’s all that really matters.

Oh, and YOU’RE WELCOME.

Celebrity Rehab "star" Jeff Conaway In COMA!

Troubled actor, Jeff Conaway is in a coma following an apparent overdose of prescription drugs last week.

The Taxi star, 60, who has had a longtime public battle with cocaine, painkillers and alcohol, is in critical condition at Encino Hospital Medical Center unconscious with pneumonia, according to the Los Angeles Times.[via People]

Some may know Conaway from his work in the movie Grease or the TV show Taxi, but I know him as the absolute train wreck on Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab.

No word on if his enabler and fellow addict of an on/off girlfriend was around when Jeff OD’ed.

M-Bone and Cali Swag District: Top 6 Spoofs of Teach Me How Dougie

Guest post by Edwin Daniels
Hip Hop lost another star to gun violence this week. Cali Swag District member M-bone was killed in a drive-by in his home town of Inglewood California Sunday night. The news was leaked to fans through C-Smoove, the band’s front man, when he tweeted, “Ma life changed drastically in the blink of an eye. ripmbone.”

Cali Swag District rose to fame in 2010 with a single called, “Teach Me How To Dougie,” a hip hop song based on the dance move, the Dougie (similar to the jerk, if you follow hip hop dance trends). This song is credited with bringing the Dougie dance into the popular light. The Dougie is a 2 step dance with a combination of slight shoulder leans and bending elbows. The dance is said to have originated in Dallas and brought back to California by a friend of Cali Swag’s. The song enjoyed the number 9 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Charts, number 6 on Hot Rap Songs and 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Just as infections as the dance, however, is the cowbell driven beat and tag team style verse structure of the song. In fact, since the video was released last July, Teach Me How to Dougie has inspired a number of instruction “Teach Me How To”videos online. Each one takes the form of a “shout out” just as the original explained how great the Dougie is and how the dance gets them special attention from the ladies. Some of the subjects are comedic, some convey a sense of school pride and belonging. But each one pays tribute to M-Bone and Cali Swag District’s original.
Here is the original video.

And here are the rest: Teach Me How To… …Jerk – Audio Push

The Jerk, or jerkin, is a dance similar to the Dougie, and although it is traditional of West Coast hip hop, it is often thought to be less “street” than the Dougie. Audio Pulse, from Inland Empire, California is one of the best known proponents of jerkin. The song uses the same rhythm, but the sound is a heavier busier.

…Bucky – Zooniversity ft. Quincy Kwalae & Clifton Beefy

Zooniversity is a comedy hip hop duo out of Madison Wisconsin. This video was produced to be broadcast on the JumboTron during the UW-Madison homecoming game. A local favorite in UW-M college bars and haunts, this video beat a lot of records for School themed rap-pop parodies and started a trend that spread just as fast and just as far as the Dougie. Other schools that followed in the wake of Teach Me How To Bucky include Indiana (This is Indiana), University of Oregon (Teach Me How To Ducky) and Northwest (White and Purple).

…Jimmer – Feel Good Music Coalition
Closely related to the school pride of the Zooniversity students this version takes a look at the epic rise of college basketball hero Jimmer Fredette. Jimmer, if you weren’t aware, played for BYU basketball where he led scoring in the NCAA Division 1 basketball in 2011 and earned several national honors for it. The song uses the exact same beat and the video cuts together live game footage. If you follow college basketball many of the rhymes will be cleaver. My personal favorite is the term, Jimmerish.

Other sports versions of the song include, Teach Me How To Raji (BjRaji) and Teach Me How to Dougie (Doug Gilmor).

…Factor – Westerville South High School (Ohio)
I won’t lie. I was a big fan of the School House Rock series of songs. It’s no wonder that I was drawn to this video when I found it. The idea is pretty basic, a parody of the song which explains how to factor. What is surprising though was learning how much I had forgotten about factoring since I was in school, and how much this video helped me remember. Special props for actually doing The Dougie while factoring.

Other Educational versions include:
Teach Me How To Study,
Teach me How To Study (remix)
and Teach Me How To Study Spanish Irregular Preterites.

…Panda – Anon.
This one isn’t really a take-off of Teach Me How To Dougie. It’s just a panda doing the Dougie to the original Cali Swag District song. That Panda has some moves.

Other Animal versions include, Teach Me How To Husky.

…Snuggie – THEDANDANGO
And my personal favorite. A song about everyone’s favorite sleeved blanket. The song is okay, but the video is priceless. So many snuggies.

Other oddities include the puppet rapper ‘lil Russy.
