Bodyguard remake sure to be better than the original.

I hope you sense the sarcasm with that title.

A The Bodyguard remake?  What the eff is wrong with these big wig movie company execs?  I will never understand why these brilliant movie companies even think about remaking a flick that should be vaulted and locked up a la London Bridge style.  Take the key and lock her up!  My fair lady!  That nursery rhyme was created for a reason, people!   And yes, that is how I really feel.

And while we are on the topic of locking things up and fair ladies, Lindsay Lohan should be permanently locked up for her shananigans as well.  (Take note, Judge Keith Swartz.)

I’ve come to the conclusion that all of  Hollywood has completely lost it, especially the creative minds behind movie creation.   The 1992 Bodyguard raked in a big fat $411 million worldwide.  How do you compete with that?

According to  Deadline.com, the new version of the film will be scripted by Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer and presented to us all via Warner Brothers.

So how will this movie be revamped?  Well instead of a sexy Secret Service agent (Kevin Costner) falling in love with his client singing diva (Whitney Houston) whom he was hired to protect, the new version will center around an Iraq war veteran who gets a job to protect a young female singer.  However his job will be made a lot more difficult due to easier access to celebrities via Twitter, TMZ, etc.

Who will be cast as the stars of the movie?  No clue as of yet.  At any rate, I think this is a horrible idea.

You might as well remake Avatar using legos.  James Cameron, you game?
