As I wrote earlier this morning, rumors were a-swirling that Jessica Simpson had FINALLY convinced her former NFL boyfriend to pop the question after a whole 7 months of dating!

And now, it’s official!  Simpson’s rep said

“They are thrilled!” Jessica’s spokesperson says, adding that the couple became engaged late last week.

Wow, I wonder if the timing of this had anything to do with her ex-husband Nick Lachey getting engaged just over a week ago after dating his girlfriend for 5 years?

Or maybe that Jess can’t hide what may be a baby bump forever?

It’s (semi) official y’all!   Jessica Simpson got her wish, she is engaged to her (former) football boyfriend!!! (hey, she takes what she can get)

Sources confirm to UsMagazine.com that the singer, 30, became engaged to beau Eric Johnson on Thursday, just days after Us broke the news that her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo, his love of nearly five years. Simpson and Lachey, 37, split in 2005, after three years of marriage.

And adding fuel to this fire? Sources say that Simpson was flashing a large engagement ring at an appearance in Kansas City.

The twosome reportedly started dating in May while Johnson was in process of divorcing from his wife. Their divorce was final in October clearing the path for Simpson to get him to put a ring on it.

Ug, she has a Christmas album to promote, so this means we get to hear all about how WOOONDDDERRFFUULLL what’s his name is, and how happy she is, and babies, and big wedding!!!

This Christmas season, both Mariah Carey and Jessica Simpson are releasing their second Christmas albums.  Mariah released “Merry Christmas” in 1994 and Jessica put out “ReJoyce The Christmas Album” in 2004. This year, Mariah releases “Merry Christmas II” You and Jessica puts out her “Happy Christmas”.

Is one of the most kick-a$$ couples in entertainment expecting a little bundle of joy?!?! Rumors are swirling that singer Pink is pregnant!!! Pink is married to motocross racer Carey Hart.
