According to reports from Variety [via People] Dame Helen Mirren will be taking care of Russell Brand in the remake of 1981′s Arthur. The now sober Brand will be playing the part of full time lovable drunk, Arthur, made famous by the late Dudley Moore.

Mirren, 64, is taking on quite a challenge herself – given that the frankly hilarious role of Hobson won a Supporting Actor Oscar for the late Sir John Gielgud. Rather than a butler to inebriated Manhattan playboy Arthur, however, Mirren reportedly is set to play the wealthy heir’s longtime nanny. [People]

This is ONE remake that I cannot wait to see. And I think Russell has that lovable messiness that can pull it off. And as for Mirren? She’s perfect, no matter what she plays.
