Eddie Izzard Honored for Charity Marathon Run

Comedian and actor Eddie Izzard has been honored for his marathon trek through the UK this summer. Eddie ran 43 (FORTY-THREE!!!!!) marathons in nearly as many days this summer to raise money for Comic Relief organization.
While accepting his special award at the annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year, Izzard was very humbled by the honor.
He said, “I’m no athlete. Not like everybody here tonight. It was really tough. Everything was painful. People asked me if I enjoyed the running but I enjoyed the stopping! I staggered, I ran and I crawled”.
In total Eddie ran 1,100 miles and raise over $300,000 (£200,000) in 51 days.

As someone who’s run a grand total of one marathon, I have to give this man TOTAL respect. That is gruelling, no matter how well conditioned you are.
Also: Gossip moment: I know someone who had a one night stand with him back in the cross-dressing days. She said he was great, but she got the feeling he REALLY only wanted her for her boots, which were fabulous.
