Last night, DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was to have worked at the Rain Nightclub in the Las Vegas Palms Hotel and Casino.

In tribute, only the A and the M were left on last night, in the PALMS sign.

Last night, BusybeeBlogger, make another trip up to Hollywood for the Celebrity Catwalk fund raising event. Singer/Dancing with the stars cast member, Mya was honored for her work with animals. The fashion show was to raise money for various animal charities. See the Celebrity Catwalk page for all the details!

This event was, um, yeah. It was hosted by former Girl Next Door, Bridget Marquardt, who was escorted by her boyfriend and new roommate, Nick Carpenter. While waiting around for the show to start, I saw the Girls Next Door crew floating around, and realized E! really is continuing with Crystal and the Shannon twins. Hmmm.

Then, Bridget walks by with the cameras filming. Oh goodie. Busybee will be on the show in the background! I hope I looked ok.

Anyways. The highlight of the non-air conditioned night was seeing Hugh Hefner. I got within six feet but the camera crew, and his body guards wouldn’t let me get any closer. I would have LOVED to get his autograph, and a photo! 2007′s Playmate of the Year, Sara Jean Underwood also made an appearance.

I got a few good pics, but my favorite photo shows him sitting, looking as if he wishes he was at home, or anywhere but at the nightclub.

Oh my gawd. I just came in from a bike ride, and found that DJ AM , Adam Goldstein, was found dead in his apartment.

A rep for DJ AM just issued the following statement: “Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.”

TMZ is reporting that drugs were found in his apartment. Oh lordy.

Our sources say DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days — one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door.

The fire department eventually had to break into his apartment, and found Adam.

AM survived a terrible plane crash (see here), along with Travis Barker, that killed four of their friends. I hope that Adam, who was very open about overcoming a drug addiction, wasn’t back to using.

How tragic.

Julia Roberts continues to film the book to screen version of Eat Pray Love in Rome, Italy this week. If you’re wondering why her clothes kind of, um, are unflattering, it’s the part of the book where Julia’s character puts on about 30 lbs from finally eating again. (Long story, you have to read the book)
