Singer, Ricky Martin, posted these pictures of his twin sons, via surrogate August of 2008, on his own website today! There are more pics of Ricky and the twins, Matteo and Valentino, in this week’s People Magazine as well as an interview with the proud daddy.
PEOPLE: Describe this time in your life
MARTIN: I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.
How hands-on are you as a father?
I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.
Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’
Tell us about Valetino’s and Matteo’s personalities.
Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!
What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance.
It sounds like most interviews with new parents. But the one thing that stood out was that Ricky doesn’t have a nanny! No nanny with TWINS?? Holy cow! I wish him all the luck in the world.
U2 singer and Join (red) promoter Bono stopped outside of the BBC studios in London to sign some autographs for awaiting fans.
I love Bono. He may have his moments of being an outspoken star, but compared to most, he’s cool. And he’s trying to use his stardom for something world changing. If you have never taken a look at Join (red), the organization that helps to fight Hiv Aids and malaria in Africa, please just take a moment. You can buy cool stuff, and do good at the same time. How easy is that?
Actor/producer Pierce Brosnan is out in Italy with his family on vacation, and BusyBee has the pics! The Mama Mia actor was spotted having a nice little stroll with his wife Keely Shaye Smith, and their two sons Dylan Thomas and Paris Beckett.
Get ready for Pierce to made the rounds on TV. He has a movie, The Greatest, coming out in October! I think he’s highly underrated as an actor, and I can’t wait to see him on the screen again.
In only what I can assume is another way to promote her Circus Tour that returns tomorrow, August 20, Britney Spears made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.
Dressed in a string bikini, and a bright red flower in her hair, Britney delivered the Top Ten. From a sound stage in LA I’m sure. ‘Top 10 ways the world would be different if Britney Spears were President’. The funniest part of the monologue WAS watching her shift from hip to hip while perched on a large wooden desk.
Here’s the list!
10. I’d be the first President to wear eyeshadow since Nixon
9. We would only invade fun places like Cabo
8. Free pie for everybody
7. My situation room would be a cabana in the Palm Casino in Las Vegas
6. I’d lure Osama out of hiding with the irresistible scent of my new fragrance “Circus Fantasy”
5. Every Presidential news conference would feature costume changes
4. America might have a more coherent fiscal strategy
3. Challenge U.S. to put nightclub on the moon by the end of the decade
2. Three words: Vice President Diddy
1. Finally the media would pay some attention to me
I’ll admit, I’m a big marshmallow. Especially when men are with their kids. Russell Crowe has been spending a lot of time playing with his kids lately, and I usually don’t like to post the little ones on here (creeps me out), but these were cute.
Russell spent the day with his sons Charles Spencer Crowe and Tennyson Spencer Crowe at the Botanical Gardens in Sydney Australia. Daddy Russell brought the bouncy ball, and Tennyson seemed to be enjoying running around. Ahhhh.
