While we’re all looking back at the end of 2008 I thought I would give my own favorite entertainment moment.
While I loved Britney Spears’ comeback, Lady Gaga breaking on the scene, Mike Rowe making People’s Sexy List, Sarah Palin, and the Sex and the City Movie.
My favorite moment in 2008, was on that awful morning show, the Today Show’s 4th hour. Sam the Cooking Guy was there to promote his new book “Just a Bunch of Recipes”, and he did what no one else had ever done before: told Kathy Lee to “please be quiet!” The event even got him a return visit a week later!!!
Trying to put the rumors to rest? Or is it just a romantic get away? Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony were spotted on a getaway in Puerto Rico. E! is saying that the twosome met up with friends and family earlier this week at an upscale restaurant.
“Jennifer and Marc looked very happy, so it is hard for me to believe the rumors that their marriage is in trouble,” the eatery’s general manager, Trace Donaldson, tells E! News. “They were laughing and seemed to be having a great time.”
Ah how cute. They ate a meal, and had a nice time. Really? While on vacation? But where were the wonder twins? At home in the states? Or squirreled away at the hotel? Mommy and daddy must have needed some adult time, with family of course
It’s the end of the year, and while some of us will be sleeping while the rest of y’all get your groove on, still others will be watching movies with friends. That’s how I like to ring in the new year, watching movies with friends.
So I wanted to come up with a few movies, that had a NYE theme somewhere in them, if not for most of the movie.
When Harry Met Sally This one’s an easy one, with two pivotal points being at NYE. What a mushy movie.
Waiting to Exhale This one starts and ends on NYE. A whole lot can happen in a year for four very interesting ladies.
and then there’s…
4 ROOMS!!! In this multi directed/written New Years Eve based movie, Ted the poor bell boy (Tim Roth) has to deal with witches (still sassy Madonna) conjuring up their pin up virgin, a crazy father (Antonio Banderas) of two bratty kids, Jennifer Beals gagged and tied to a chair, and Bruce Willis with Quentin Tarantino making a crazy finger bet with a lighter. If you can find all of the cameos, including Salma Hayek and Kathy Griffin, you win!
I know there are more out there… what am I missing?!?!
This may sounds like a bad set up for a joke, but we found this fascinating clip on Defamer (we give credit around here you know) and were mezmerized at 1) Stephen Speilberg was hanging out in a hotel room with Andy Warhol 2) Bianca Jagger was there, too, looking as if she can’t decided to be interested or not, and 3) all three are messed up on something hectic.
You have to watch the clip to really get the idea. There’s a TV on that no one’s watching, talk of swallowing the future, and a few “are you out of your head” looks tossed around.
What I’m really wondering if this was Pre-Poltergeist, or post. Watch it, you’ll understand.
