It’s official this time, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has married his girlfriend Carla Bruni in a civil ceremony earlier this morning. The couple was joined by 30 of their friends and family in the Presidential Office of the Elysee Palace.

The couple had only been dating for nine weeks!

There had been rumors a few weeks ago that the two had eloped. So only time will tell if this one is true or not.

Bruni had been previously linked to Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger. Sarkozy had just divorced his wife in October 2006 becoming France’s first bachelor President.
