For the politically inclined…

I am trying to keep my readers up to date on the presidential race for 2008. Mostly out of selfish reasons, I like to know what’s going on, but also so that my readers will be able to hold educated conversations at parties jk

Fred Thompson officially joined the race today. I don’t know too much about where he stands on any issue. All I know is his film career and that he was a lawyer during the Nixon era.

I’m such a back to school nerd. I was walking through Target today with my mom, and I got sidetracked by the school supplies. I could have spent my blogging paycheck there, all $5 of it! heehee

I think I’d be more excited about this post if we weren’t constantly seeing photos of Maddox Jolie going to school up to this point. But I guess this is the first official day of Kindergarten. How fun!? But he won’t be singing “Head and shoulders knees and toes…” no he won’t. Maddox will be taking his lessons, in French only!

That’s right, his school is in French! How cool is that?!?!

“Sending a child off to school is always a huge and often scary step for any parent,” one insider said. “But it’s a lot harder for celebrities. They are used to constantly having their children with them, or at least with very loyal staff, and constantly having security around them. So to send them out there with everyone else is bound to be hard.”

His Hollywood superstar parents turned up on Tuesday to wave him off for his first day. “They were just like normal parents,” one insider said. “Except a lot better looking.”

I have only one question, what about the kids going to school in NOLA? Is that no longer fashionable?

After a fight against pancreatic cancer, Tenor, Luciano Pavarotti had died.

The son of a baker who was an amateur singer, Pavarotti was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Modena. He had a meager upbringing, though he said it was rich with happiness.

“Our family had very little, but I couldn’t imagine one could have any more,” Pavarotti said.

In 1990, he appeared with Domingo and Carreras in a concert at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome for the end of soccer’s World Cup. The concert was a huge success, and the record known as “The Three Tenors” was a best-seller and was nominated for two Grammy awards. The video sold over 750,000 copies.

During the 1992-95 Bosnia war, he collected humanitarian aid along with U2 lead singer Bono, and after the war he financed and established the Pavarotti Music Center in the southern city of Mostar to offer Bosnia’s artists the opportunity to develop their skills.

Pavarotti had three daughters with his first wife, Lorenza, Cristina and Giuliana; and one, Alice, with his second wife.

At his side when he died were his wife, Nicoletta; his four daughters; his sister, Gabriela; his nephews and close relatives and friends, Robson said.
