It seems that Owen Wilson’s fun loving persona in the movies had escaped him in recent months.
A “source”, don’t you just love those, told EXTRA that Owen DID ATTEMPT SUICIDE this weekend, and had been down the past few months but that it wasn’t due to a relationship. ( I guess Kate can relax now)
“Extra” has learned from a source close to Owen Wilson that the actor did indeed attempt suicide over the weekend.
The source revealed to “Extra” that Wilson has been depressed for the last few months, but insisted it is not over a broken relationship.
The source also told “Extra” that Wilson’s brother, Luke, found him and that Wilson’s family and friends are shocked.
The families are usually shocked because the person doesn’t want them to judge. They feel bad enough already.
You know what bothers me? When people who make money selling a product get all uppidy about other people selling a product.
Such as…
Trent Reznor of the Nine Inch Nails, get all high and mighty about the Smashing Pumpkins reuniting and performing with their non original lineup.
Reznor said: “I was never a big Smashing Pumpkins fan back when they were the Pumpkins, not to shit on Billy [Corgan] or anything but I don’t hear anything that would make me want to care. I think trying to resurrect the name Smashing Pumpkins… it’s all a bit corporate for me.”
Oh by the way, NIN has an album out this year, and a tour to go with it. You know, to make money.
Smashing Pumpkins does as well.

Even though it will mean less postings on Owen Wilson and his family… I agree that they should be left alone at this time. It’s a little bit of a sensitive issue.
While recovering, from what exactly he does not say, Owen released this statement
“I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”
After yesterday’s reported hospital visit, People Magazine is reporting that Owen Wilson’s family stopped by to visit.
Later in the evening, Wilson’s brothers Andrew and Luke, as well as his parents, were seen at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
I know I know, it’s not much, but it’s something. I really hope that Owen is OK. Feeling that low, is miserable. And hopefully things get better for him.
Maybe he should just concentrate on work? That’s what we did…
Wilson, who stars in the upcoming Wes Anderson movie The Darjeeling Limited, is currently filming the comedy Tropic Thunder, directed by Wilson’s friend Ben Stiller.
It seems that little Nick Hogan/Bollea wasn’t JUST speeding last night before his crash. It seems that the 17 year old was racing someone else! Is this really a good idea, EVER?
Clearwater Police say his passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano of Dunedin, is in critical condition.
Witnesses say the Supra was racing a silver Dodge Viper at the time, but police say it’s too early to know for sure what led to the crash.
No charges have been filed.
I wonder who was in the Viper, and if it was a friend or just some other random dork wanting to race on a Sunday night.
Living in the San Diego area sometimes has its perks. ( I’m really 30 miles north). One such perk is Sam the Cooking Guy. I LOVE Sam the Cooking Guy. He makes food I want to eat, and my dad wants to eat, and every guy I know wants to eat… and prepare!
He’s funny, easy to follow, and looks like he walked out of a SHAG painting. He even has his dog in the kitchen with him most of the time. Don’t even write him about how unsanitary that may be, it’s HIS house, not a set.
ANYWAYS…. it used to be that you can only get Sam on COX channel 4 in San Diego, and since my cable would fizzle in the heat of summer, I couldn’t watch Sam anymore. So sad for me…. But I was filled with joy when I saw a commercial for Sam’s new show on Discovery Health!!

In the most “shocking” news of the day, attorney general Alberto Gonzales is stepping down.
Word is that Mr. Gonzales spoke to President Bush on Friday to inform him on his decision. MSNBC says that “He (Bush) very reluctantly accepted it,” the official said.
Gonzales was questioned and under investigation for firings of US attorneys. If you have forgotten how much fun the hearings have been, John Stewart is the best review I can find.
