Debra Messing is making the most of her reclaimed attention. After helping to open Phillip Lim’s new boutique earlier this week on Mercer in NYC, she was helping to host the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge in the Hamptons on Saturday. This fundraiser sounds like a good time, if you can stand the heat.
Once again this year, Bridgehampton Polo Club host the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at JetOne Jets Field. This summer’s matches promise to be some of the most exciting in the sport of Polo. Some of the worlds greatest athletes will compete for the most tresured prizes. Tickets are available the day of the game and are $20 per car. Procedes benefit The South Fork Breast Coalition.
Ms. Tammy Faye Messner has just passed away according to CBS. The former TV evangelist passed away from lung cancer. She had also fought colon cancer a few years before.
Forbes.com has reported that the kittens in Hollywood may have the tabloids’ attention but not desires of most people. The over 40 crew dominated the Sexiest in Hollywood survey: Salma Hayek, Halle Berry, and Raquel Welch sharing space with and dominating over Jessica Biel, and Beyonce. How’s that for a reality check?! (BTW “Busy Bee” favorite Carmen Electra also made the list)
I must say it’s nice to know that women and not girls are at the top of this list. It may be in part due to the out of control behavior of mist young Hollywood, or just that real people want someone not just out of high school. Can they even hold a conversation?
Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that Kate Moss is getting the boot from lingerie line Agent Provocateur, and being replaced with actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. Maggie will begin her stint as spokesmodel September 1st with three more “episodes” to follow with other stars “in due time”.
For those who only know Maggie as Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister, this may be a bit of a surprise. But, her roles in Secretary and Sherry Baby may have had a hand in her landing the job. Don’t believe us? Watch the Trailer for Secretary below.
One of our all time favorite TV cooks comes from the UK. Nigella Lawsonhas had some press here in the States, and even recently her show was picked up by the Food Network. Now if you don’t know Nigella, she was profiled on 60 minutes a few years ago, is shown on the Today show from time to time and her licking a spoon while making cupcakes has been referred to in many reviews. YUM!
Anyways, our dear “Domestic Goddess” was on a show in the UK last December. And the host referred to her as a MILF. (DUH!) Well, someone got offended at this statement, and a few others he made during the show. (If you don’t know what MILF is watch American Pie, or just “Google” it).
A committee comparable to our FCC looked in to the complaint and had this to say:
The committee said that when referring to Lawson as a “Milf”, Ross “did not spell out what the ‘f’ actually stood for… this kept it within the bounds of acceptability for that audience in that slot”.
We think that it is not only acceptable to call Nigella a MILF but necessary most of the time. Just watch her as she prepares a lamb shoulder for friends, and you’ll know what we mean.
