Last night, the ESPYs were held at the Kodak theater in Hollywood. The ESPYs are the “Oscars” of the Sport world hosted by ESPN (get it ESPY, ESPN… nevermind). Last year the show got tons of press because newly retired Lance Armstrong, who had just won his SEVENTH Tour De France and was all over the tabloids due to his friendships with Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey, and engagement to Sheryl Crow, hosted the 2006 show. It was the funniest award show I had seen in a long time.
But enough about Lance, here’s the info on THIS year’s ESPYs.
Co-hosts LeBron Jamesand Jimmy Kimmel will be joined on stage by the world’s premier athletes and Hollywood’s biggest stars when The 2007 ESPYS co-presented by HUMMER and Under Armour comes to the Kodak Theater in July. The 15th annual celebration of the best moments from the year in sports will be televised on ESPN Sunday, July 15, at 9p.m. ET.
I don’t care WHO you are, no one but no one could do what Lance Armstrong did at last year’s 2006 ESPYs. He called out good friend Jake Gyllenhaal for choosing to sit in the front of the hall “I thought you liked in the rear … of the theater.” Lance, a testicular cancer survivor and founder of LIVESTRONG, also talked about how happy he was to host saying “I’d give my left nut” to host the ESPYs. It was hillarious!
Who knows how well Jimmy Kimmel and LeBron James did, but we’ll find out on Friday.

ISCHIA June 21- Hilary Swank, extraordinary American actress and two-time Oscar winner will be among the superstars of the fifth edition of the Ischia Global Fest. The talented protagonist of cult films like Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby will receive the Legend Award by Regione Campania on July 11 in the town of Lacco Ameno.
For those of us who don’t know what this “Global Fest” is, it appears to be a film festival comparable to Cannes, or Sundance. Expected to attend are-
Oliver Stone, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Hilary Swank, Ben Kingsley, Laura Dern, Sheryl Crow, Gustavo Santaolalla, Andrea Bocelli, and many other friends are expected to attend.
It’s good to see Hil looking so happy. That color is such a very nice and Summer on the coast look, but is it appropriate for receiving a life achievement award?
